Stanley
From Executive to Eyewear Enthusiast!
Stanley, a University of New Castle England graduate and former Panasonic executive, made the bold move to the U.S. to chase the American dream—for himself and, more importantly, for his kids.
Now, he’s bringing his sharp business acumen to the world of optometry, working alongside his sibling, Kitty Hau, as a frame stylist and apprentice optician.
When he’s not helping customers find the perfect frames, Stanley enjoys the simple joys of life—quiet moments and quality time with his kids, who remain his greatest inspiration.
Jia
The Heart and Hustle Behind Eyesmate Optical!
Starting as an apprentice, Jia has worked his way up to become the friendly face and hardworking manager at Eyesmate Optical. With a heart as big as his dedication, Jia has built a loyal customer base, offering exceptional service while helping clients choose the perfect
pair of glasses.
His duties range from managing staff and inventory to processing insurance and billing, all while maintaining a personal touch. Whether adjusting frames or handling eye care tasks, Jia ensures everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. Plus, he’s fluent in English, Chinese, and Japanese, making sure every customer feels at home.

Johnny

With over 25 years of experience and a New York optician’s license since 1998, Johnny is the master of all things eyewear. From crafting precision lenses to curating high-end frames, he’s built a career on perfecting both vision and style. Starting as an apprentice at just 15, he worked his way up, mastering everything from lab work to managing luxury eyewear boutiques—because excellence is in the details.
And when it comes to lens technology, Johnny is a true expert. Whether it’s progressive lenses, blue light filters, or the latest innovations in lens coatings, he’s always on top of the newest advancements to ensure you get the clearest, most comfortable vision possible.

Dr. Grace Wang has been a trusted optometrist at Eyesmate Optical since the very beginning, helping patients see clearly for 20 years and counting! She provides top-notch comprehensive care, from precise prescriptions to expert contact lens fittings.
With two decades of experience, she’s seen it all—blurry vision, mismatched frames, and even patients insisting they can “see just fine” (spoiler: they couldn’t). Whether you need new glasses or just a good laugh about your outdated prescription, Dr. Wang has you covered.
Dr. Michelle Choy
Dr. Choy has had extensive training to conduct low vision, pediatric, and primary care comprehensive eye exams. In her free time, she participated in volunteer community vision screenings for the local community as well as other vision centers abroad. Dr. Choy is thrilled to be an optometrist at Eyesmate Optical in New York City, NY. With her clinical experience, she believes in performing quality eye exams for her patients and serving the community.
Dr. Michelle Phan
Dr. Phan graduated with high honors from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and completed a residency in Ocular Disease and Primary Care at the Connecticut VA. With experience in hospital eye care, private practice, and corporate optometry, she’s seen it all—literally!
From kids’ first eye exams to managing glaucoma, macular degeneration, and specialty contacts, Dr. Phan is here to keep your vision sharp. Off the clock, she’s a foodie, traveler, and arts & crafts enthusiast (but don’t worry—she won’t DIY your glasses!).
